Fruitful Vine BF240
|
Macduff delivers new trawler for Nicol Fishing Ltd, Fraserburgh.
John Nicol of Nicol Fishing Ltd will be commanding Fruitful Vine
BF240, a replacement of its wooden predecessor of the same name.
Fruitful Vine is built as a repeat of the ‘Rebecca’, which was
built by Macduff in 2008. Nicol Fishing Ltd will be working
through Fraserburgh Inshore Fishermen Ltd.

Fruitful Vine, LOA
21.22metres, has a depth of 3.9metres and a breadth of 7metres. At
191tonnes, it has fuel capacity at 18500 litres and a fresh water
capacity of 12000 litres.
The entire vessel was
designed and built by Macduff with the exception of the hull
fabrication, which was sub-contracted to Aveco (Teeside) Limited.

The Mitsubishi S6R MPTK engine runs with a Reintjes WAF371 reverse
reduction gearbox with a 6.12:1 reduction ratio, driving a 1900mm
diameter Lips propeller in a Lips fixed nozzle. Fruitful Vine also
has Cummins 6CTA 8.3m auxiliary engine on the port side, which
will drive hydraulic pumps for the deck machinery. Macduff
supplied the Mitsubishi engine.
The deck machinery includes a Macduff drum trawl winch; two
Macduff split net drums and a TMA Gibson winch. The fish handling
system also comes from Macduff, with fishroom cooling and ice
maker from Premier Refrigeration Limited. All wheelhouse
electronics were supplied from McMinn Marine Ltd.
